All Progressives Congress With An Agenda For the Nigerian People
The Chairman All Progressives Congress, (APC) Chief John Odigie Oyegun has in a speech asserted that the APC is preparing itself to assume the responsibility of governing Nigeria next year. In a press conference held on Thursday, he went on promising that the party was gearing up to raise the standards of governance in the country and better the conditions of living of Nigerians. He also stated that the candidates for all electoral positions for the elections of February 2015 will be announced in a couple of weeks. He referred to other candidates as agents of “status quo” who would go against the candidates brought forward by the APC who would be agents of change.
Condemning what he referred to as a state of impunity by the PDP led administration bringing up examples as “the administration’s tyrannical reaction to the exercise of the right of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal to change his party.” Going further, he stated that “The Police arrogated to itself the power of the judiciary to interpret the Constitution and withdrew the security details of the Speaker. The illegal and high-handed action by the Police in removing the security details of a sitting Speaker of the House of Representatives has attracted strong and widespread condemnation from within and outside Nigeria”.
He also referred to the “recent release to Capital Oil Ltd all its assets hitherto lawfully acquired by AMCON as a result of its said involvement in the fuel subsidy scam. Saying, “It is not a secret that the proprietor of Capital Oil is the coordinator or convener of the widely derided Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) that is at the forefront of the obscene and doomed campaign for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan.”
Promising that an APC administration will rebuild and expand infrastructure; invest in human capital, particularly the Youth; deploy resources to provide jobs and employment opportunities and get our economy working again for all Nigerians. Also, work for the inclusive growth and development of the Nigerian economy through massive job creation programs to ensure the reduction of poverty and the protection of the weak.
